Thanks to Neri (one of this blog’s readers), I found out that Secret Garden will be aired by GMA this April 2011 (or is it May?).
I don’t watch TV that much so I never saw the teaser that GMA released to announce that they have booked Secret Garden.
I’m disappointed that ABS-CBN won’t be airing the Korean drama but I’m not surprised why GMA was keen on securing the rights to air the drama here in the Philippines. Secret Garden was very popular in South Korea and has a very strong fanbase among overseas fans. GMA’s ratings will surely soar higher once the Tagalog-dubbed Secret Garden starts airing.
And of course, GMA knows how popular the lead stars of Secret Garden are in the country. Hyun Bin was in My Name is Kim Sam Soon and Ha Ji-won was popular as the gisaeng Hwang Jin Yi. Both dramas were aired by the network years ago and were received favorably by Filipino fans. Heck, even my 60-something aunt knows Cyrus and Hwang Jin Yi.

There are also reports that GMA might air Playful Kiss (Mischievous Kiss) and Sungkyunkwan Scandal. If this is strue, then the network is assured of more viewers since Kim Hyun Joong (Mischievous Kiss) and Micky Yoochun (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) are both well-known kpop artists. Well, you know, the country is already experiencing a full-blown kpop mania.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of GMA but they sure know how to spot dramas that have the potential to top the ratings game. I just hope that they will only pick the best voice artists this time.
too bad it was not the same voice actor for Hyun Bin as in Kim Sam Soon.
the new teaser had a preview of the voice, people are ranting why not the same voice actor as before. T_T
they are using Owen (Kim Joowon) and Jamie (Gil Raim) for the names.
Oh that’s very unfortunate.
But I do hope they will do well with the translation job. I didn’t quite like what they did with Coffee Prince. Too many details were just, well, lost in translation.

yeah., it’s so ganda talaga.. actually., mas una pha nga ‘yang na’ipalabas sa s. korea kaysa sa MY PRINCESS. . GMA maybe wants to have another koreanovela na papat0k..known kasi ang MY pRINCESS which ABS-CBN has aired. . tinatangkilik talaga ang koreanovelas and other dramas nha may about korea… and i’m very thankful t0 have a lot of it.. pwde pati ‘yong “GLOVES” nha movie..thnkyu However, i’m looking forward for the secret garden.. ^_^ please ‘wag masyadong late..

Yes, it is. I love the Choseon F4 but my favorite is Micky Yoochun.
